The FN M249S is a semi-automatic civilian version of the M249 SAW in Flat Dark Earth. It features an 18.5-inch chrome-lined cold hammer-forged barrel, closed-bolt operation and accepts 30‑round magazines or 200‑round disintegrating link belts.
The FN M249S is a semi-automatic civilian adaptation of the FN Minimi/M249 light machine gun intended for sustained-fire training and demonstration of belt-fed rifle systems. It retains the signature 18.5-inch cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel and closed-bolt operation and will accept both detachable magazines and disintegrating link belts. For optics, a versatile low- to mid-power optic such as a Vortex Viper PST Gen II 1-6×24 pairs well for accurate target acquisition and follow-up shots while keeping total system weight manageable.
