Fees

Incoming FFL Transfers

The following are the base FFL transfer rates for Darmok Firearms:

  • Hand Gun: $25 for first firearm; $10 for each additional on same transaction
  • Long Gun: $25 for first firearm; $10 for each additional on same transaction
  • NFA Item: $50 per item
  • Active & Retired Law Enforcement / Military (with valid ID): $5 per firearm (hand gun or long gun).

$10 Service Fee for Catalog Items

When you transfer in a new firearm that we could have sourced for you directly, a $10 fee is added on top of the standard transfer rate. This applies when the item is:

  • available in our ordering catalog, and
  • in stock at our distributors on the day of purchase, or
  • in stock locally with us

This surcharge applies to transfers from any online retailer, including (but not limited to) Palmetto State Armory, GrabAGun, GunBroker, Bereli, ArmsAgora, Impact Arms, Kentucky Gun Co, Battlehawk Armory, and Dahlonega Armory.

The surcharge does NOT apply to:

  • Used firearms
  • Private transfers
  • Items we cannot otherwise obtain for you

Firearms purchased directly through us — including NFA items — never carry a transfer or processing fee. This has always been our policy and will not change.

NFA Services

Fees paid to Darmok Firearms

  • Incoming NFA transfer: $50 per item
  • In-house e-Fingerprints (with copy of .EFT file): $50
  • ATF form processing: $100

The ATF form processing fee is waived for NFA items purchased through Darmok. It is only charged when items are transferred to us from elsewhere AND you also request electronic processing of your ATF transfer forms.

In-Shop Services

Cleaning

  • Pistol: $100
  • AR Upper: $100
  • AR Lower: $100
  • Complete AR: $175
  • Shotgun barrels: $50
  • NFA items: $100

Gunsmithing

$100/hour, billed in 15-minute increments.

Storage

$5 per week (or portion thereof) for items not picked up within two calendar weeks of receipt.

Note: this applies only to items that arrived for transfer and have not been picked up. We do not offer general firearms storage as a service.

Other Fees

  • Shop fee (lubricant, cleaner, etc): $5
  • Research fee (hard-to-find parts): $20
  • Trigger lock with 3-dial combination (required by Michigan law): $10.00 ($9.43 + tax)

GunBroker Purchasing Services

If you’ve spotted something on GunBroker we can’t source directly — or you’d rather not deal with registering and bidding yourself — we can handle the whole purchase for you. Contact us with the item URL and your maximum bid; we’ll bid, pay, coordinate the transfer, and absorb any credit card fees. You only pay if we win.

If you win, your total is:

  • Hammer price + shipping + GunBroker fees, plus
  • Applicable Michigan sales tax on that subtotal, plus
  • Our service fee: 15% of the hammer price (minimum $150)

Consignment

We sell your firearms for you on commission, online or in person.

  • Items valued over $200: 20% commission
  • Items valued under $200: 25% commission

How it works:

  • We become the seller of record, shielding you from liability. All buyers pass a background check.
  • All auction and platform fees are paid by us — they don’t come out of your proceeds.
  • You set a minimum sale price. If the item doesn’t reach it, we return it to you at no cost.
  • We turn merchandise quickly. Once your item sells, your money is available immediately.
  • We photograph items with high-end Nikon equipment and use enhanced visual templates so your listings stand out.
